Financial Algebra with Personal Finance
Recommended for 11th/12th Graders
Where algebra meets money and real life...
Financial Algebra is a great option for students who need a 4th math credit Algebra 1 or higher but do not want to take a class higher than Algebra 2. It's a fantastic class for all seniors.
We use the textbook Financial Algebra by Robert Gerver to explore financial topics like the difference between fixed expenses and discretionary, budgeting, salary structures, financing, investing and more.Â
Paired with Beyond Personal Finance and additional practical application projects for students to go from high school graduation to age 40 (It's the game of life in a curriculum). Students begin by choosing the career path and researching college. They then graduate and start their adult life by picking an apartment, getting engaged, married, buying a house and having kids. We learn how to read a pay stub, a W-2, learn about taxes, investing and so much more.
